  • This April, Netflix is looking to be quite promising with the amazing shows that will be coming out this month. From well-loved Japanese anime series to thrilling dramas—there will surely be something that you will find binge-worthy.

    Without further ado, here’s what’s coming out on Netflix Philippines this April:

    Howl’s Moving Castle 

    Howl’s Moving Castle is one of Hayao Miyazaki’s works that has garnered critical acclaim and has earned the love of many since it first released in 2004.

    The story follows an unconfident young woman who is cursed to live in an old body by a spiteful witch. To break the curse, she has to rely on the titular Howl, a self-indulgent yet insecure wizard and his companions that reside in his legged castle.

    The Promised Neverland: Season 1 

    Based on the manga series of the same name, The Promised Neverland is set in an orphanage called the Grace Field House in the year 2045. Emma, a bright and cheerful 11-year-old is one of the orphans who reside at the home that is overseen by a woman named Isabella, or “mama” as the orphans call her.

    The orphans are generally allowed complete freedom in the house, however, they cannot venture beyond the grounds which lead to the outside world. In a turn of events, Emma and her two best friends, Norman and Ray realize that their existence in the otherwise idyllic orphanage was because they were being raised and later sold as meat to demons beyond the grounds.

    Determined to escape, Emma, Norman, and Ray find a way to escape the Grace Field House along with their siblings.

    Money Heist: Part 4 

    Chaos begins as the 4th season of Money Heist picks-up from Season 3’s dramatic cliffhanger. The gang is going through one of their toughest moments and the rise of an enemy will put the heist in grave danger.

    The Professor wants Lisbon executed, Rio and Tokyo have blown-up a military tank and Nairobi is struggling for life—all this leading to an all-out war in the dramatic and action-packed season.

    Time to Hunt 

    Set some time in the future, financial crises hit South Korea and turns the industrial country into a dystopian world. Three outlaws attempt to leave this world behind to venture to a faraway paradise. The outlaws plot a money heist but draw the attention of a vicious killer.

    Tigertail

    Tigertail is a multi-generational drama that centers on Pin-Jui, a young Taiwanese factory worker. Impoverished, he decides to leave his homeland for America in search of greener pastures.

    As years past, Pin-Jui is now a shadow of his former self and unable to sympathize with his daughter, Angela. Now at the risk to spend his retirement in solitude, Pin-Jui must reconnect with his past to build the life that he once dreamed of living.

    Chris D’Elia: No Pain

    Stand-up comedian Chris D’Elia takes the Minneapolis stage and offers his insights on everything from self-censorship to problematic dolphins and lame mutant powers in this new Netflix Comedy special.

    The Innocence Files

    The Innocence Files is a true-crime docu-series that sheds light on those who were victims of wrongful convictions. The series feature eight cases of wrongful conviction and how The Innocence Project fought to get them out of jail.

    The docu-series is composed of three parts: The Evidence, The Witness, and The Prosecution. The series will expose the difficult truths of a deeply flawed criminal justice system and how is it affected the lives of the convicted and those around them.

    Sergio 

    Sergio Vieira de Mello is a UN diplomat who spent his life in the world’s most unstable regions and dealing with presidents, revolutionaries, and war criminals for the sake of protecting the lives of ordinary people.

    Based on a true story, Sergio highlights the life of a man pushed to his physical and emotional limits as he’s forced to face his own choices about his family, ambition, and his capacity to love.

    The 100: Season 5

    Now on its 5th season on Netflix, The 100 is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama that was originally released on The CW. It follows a group of survivors who are among the first people to return to Earth after a devastating nuclear apocalypse. The group of survivors comes from a space habitat called the Ark must now battle it out as the Earth recovers.

    Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

    Adapted from the manga series of the same name, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba follows a young man named Tanjiro Kamado who becomes a demon slayer after the murder of his family and the transformation of his younger sister, Nezuko into a demon.

    Set in Japan’s Taiso era, the series follows Tanjiro’s journey to becoming a demon slayer, the challenges that come with it, and the risks that he must take to achieve his goals.
