Ramon Ang Included Among the 50 Most Influential People of 2019
Bloomberg names tycoon Ramon Ang one of the 50 most influential people of 2019, making him the only Filipino to make the list out of hand-picked individuals worldwide.
Ang is currently the president of one of the biggest conglomerates in the Philippines, the San Miguel Corporation (SMC) since 2002, and has, since then, been able to create multiple feats in the Philippines industry.
He was recognized for “remaking the Philippines” and was lauded to be one of those who defined 2019.
On the third annual Bloomberg 50 list, editors and writers from around the globe looked into the accomplishments and recognition of the world’s most successful people of 2019 in business, entertainment, finance, politics, and science and technology.
Ang’s SMC has extended its business not only towards food and beverage and has made numerous partnerships with electricity, construction, oil industries and many more.
The most recent business venture SMC made was purchasing 86% of stocks from the leading cement brand ‘Holcim’ and to help in building a 734 billion-peso airport in the Philippines. This airport is commended to be one of the biggest infrastructure projects in Philippine history.
SMC was also included on the list of ‘Forbes Asia’s Best Over a Billion’ for having the second-highest market value among all the Philippine companies.
This shows the amount of dedication and perseverance to grasp these achievements from his work.
