5 Things to Expect at This Year’s TOYCON
As one of the most anticipated events in the Philippine Pop Culture scene, TOYCON features Filipino creativity, innovation, and talent through—you guessed it—toys, games, entertainment, and digital content.

This year is another big year for TOYCON, as such, one can only imagine what to expect at the country’s pioneer pop culture event.
Here are a few things to expect when you head to TOYCON 2019:
Toys
As the name suggests, you’ll find numerous toys for sale and for an exhibit at the convention. The toys for sale are located on the first floor, while the toys for the exhibit are on the second floor.
Apart from action figures, you’ll also find other fan merchandise at the convention. These include shirts, button pins, and pillows among others. There are also toys, much like the Jollibee FunkoPop, that launched at the convention.
Artists & Comic Creators
Some of the guests at the convention include homegrown artists and comic creators, such as Berlin Manalaysay, Raymund Bermudez and Miguel Mercado, among others. They are a part of TOYCON’s PopLife Fan Experience and have their own booths, where they hold meet-and-greets with attendees.

Cosplay
Cosplay is one of the highlights of this year’s TOYCON. They’ll be having two contests this year, first is their Cosplay K.O. Cosplay—a contest that’s free for all cosplayers to join, provided that they have reviewed the contest’s list of guidelines. This contest will be held on June 29.

The second cosplay contest will be held on the last day of the convention, June 30.
Meanwhile, the finals of the World Cosplay Summit’s Philippine leg will be held at TOYCON. This contest brings together some of the best cosplayers in the country to compete for a chance to represent the Philippines in the World Cosplay Summit 2019 in Japan.

Performances
To entertain guests, TOYCON PH brings together some of the best talents in the local pop culture scene. These include bands, up and coming idol groups and dancers, among others. The performers are set to perform songs from genres, such as Japanese Rock and Japanese Pop.
There will be performances throughout the day so make sure that you don’t miss any of them!

International Guests
The TOYCON PH Fan Experience won’t be complete without their international guests.
This year, they’re bringing celebrities from one of TV’s most beloved shows, AMC’s The Walking Dead to the Philippines. Walking Dead alumni Michael Cudlitz and Steven Ogg will be joined by Ron English, the Godfather of Street Art, for this year’s TOYCON Fan Experience.

Joining their guest roster is world-renowned cosplayer REIKA, who will be judging the World Cosplay Summit Finals. REIKA will also have a meet-and-greet with her fans.

The Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectible Convention (TOYCON) is the largest and longest-running convention for toys and collectibles, cosplay, comics, gaming and digital entertainment in Asia.
For 16 years, they have made the Philippine pop culture scene one of the most dynamic and the most fan-centric event in the region. Visit the convention until June 30 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Pasay City.
