  • Expect a couple of changes along Manila City roads today, September 21, 2018, and on Sunday, September 23, 2018, in commemoration of the declaration of Martial Law.

    As per the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit (MDTEU), the following roads will be closed for Talakayan sa Mapayapang Paggunita ng Martial Law (A Discussion for the Peaceful Commemoration of Martial Law) starting 6 a.m. on Friday:

    1. North and Southbound lane of Roxas Blvd. from Katigbak to Pres. Quirino Ave.
    2. Eastbound lane of TM Kalaw from Ma. Orosa to Taft Ave.
    3. East and westbound lane of TM Kalaw from M.H. Del Pilar to Roxas Blvd.

    Motorists take note: Some areas of Roxas Blvd will be closed/IMAGE MMDA

    Instead, motorists are advised to take the following alternate routes:

    1. Vehicles coming from the northern part of Manila intending to pass the stretch of Roxas Blvd. southbound lane coming from Delpan Bridge Pier Zone should take a left to P. Burgos
    2. Vehicles along the westbound lane of TM Kalaw going to Roxas Blvd. must turn left to M.H. Del Pilar
    3. Vehicles coming from Mabini St. using the eastbound lane of TM Kalaw going to Taft Avenue must turn left to Ma. Orosa
    4. Vehicles from the southern part of Manila utilizing the northbound lane of Roxas Blvd. must turn right to Pres. Quirino Ave.

    On Sunday, September 23, 2018, the following roads will be closed at exactly 4 am for Alay Lakad Para sa Kabataan 2018:

    1. North and southbound lane of Roxas Blvd. from Anda Circle to P. Ocampo
    2. Burgos from Roxas Blvd. to Lagusnilad east and westbound
    3. TM Kalaw from Roxas Blvd. to M. H. Del Pilar westbound
    4. Finance Rd. from P. Burgos to TM Kalaw north and southbound lanes
    5. Westbound lane of Ayala Blvd. from Romualdez to Taft Ave.

    Certain parts of TM Kalaw will also be closed off/IMAGE MMDA

    The MMDA advises motorists to take the following routes:

    1. Vehicles coming from Romualdez intending to use the stretch of Ayala Blvd. should go straight to N.A. Lopez, left to San Marino, to their point of destination.
    2. Vehicles coming from the southern part of Manila wishing to use the stretch of Roxas Blvd. northbound lane must turn right to P. Ocampo, left to Taft Ave.
    3. PUVs traveling along A. Mabini must turn right to P. Gil or go straight and turn right to TM Kalaw, left to Taft Ave.
    4. Vehicles coming from the northern part of Manila intending to use the stretch of Roxas Blvd. southbound lane coming from Delpan Bridge-Pier Zone must take A. Soriano, going straight to Magallanes Drive, right to P. Burgos, straight to Lagusnilad (Taft Ave.)
