  • Soldiers can now get free unlimited LRT rides
  • As a gratitude for their heroism and honor, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will now have the privilege to ride at the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) free for the entire year of 2018. This is the government’s way of giving back to our troops after what happened during the Marawi siege.

Last December, a memorandum of agreement with the AFP was already signed for the free train rides to be effective. What the soldiers need to do is to show an identification card to the teller at the ticket booths or any train station personnel to authenticate.

As an act to boost morale, the government hopes that through this, they can thank the hard work and heroism of the soldiers. All active military personnel is also entitled to ride the LRT-2 (Santolan-Recto) for free with a proper identification card.
