  • We are thrilled with yet another FREE international film festival this week, courtesy of the Embassy of Hungary in the Philippines in partnership with Shangri-La Plaza. The first ever Hungarian Film Festival, featuring four critically acclaimed Hungarian contemporary films, will be held from December 1 to 2 at the Shang Cineplex.

    We’re sure you can watch all of these films in two days!

    Son of Saul (2015) is a thriller drama that won the Oscar’s Best Picture in 2016. It follows the story of Saul, prisoner of the Nazi death camp in pursuit of saving a child’s body he took for his son.

    Strangled (2016) is a social, political, and psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat as you watch a series of shocking murders uncover in a small Hungarian town.

    Kincsem – Bet on Revenge (2017) is a historical romance drama that has been a huge Hungarian box office hit. Find out why as you witness a horse trainer get tangled up in love and revenge.

    Paw (2015) will surely touch the hearts of dog owners and animal lovers with a true-to-life story of Mancs (Paw), a famous rescue dog who forms a tag team with an ordinary man to save lives around the world.

    Treat your friends, family, and significant other to a special movie marathon at the Shang! We won’t tell that you didn’t spend a dime.
