  • The Philippine Madrigal Singers, an all Filipino choir founded in 1963 by a National Artist for Music, once again made its name known after being applauded by a number of foreign audiences from New York and New Jersey.

    The group’s trademark performance include singing seated in a semicircle without a conductor, is what makes them stand out. A standard performance, however, exhibits fusion of musicality, technical proficiency and soulful singing with perfectly executed dynamics and diction.

    This world-class choir, which is mostly composed of students, faculty, and alumni from the University of the Philippines, can honestly sing anything with authenticity and professionalism while keeping their audience thoroughly entertained. Last October 20, 2017, they flew to some parts of America to perform their renditions of a repertoire of sacred and popular music. They gave an electrifying and outstanding performance that audiences applauding from start to finish.

    Prior to their performance in St. Aiden’s Church, St. Peter’s University in Jersey City, New Jersey last October 20, 2017, the Philippine Madrigal Singers were also invited and asked to perform another world-class performance at the United Nations ECOSOC Chamber at United Nations Headquarters in New York City last October 10, 2017 where they had left a number of diplomats and personnel from the United Nations in awe and full amazement.
