  • In relation to the travel warnings issued by the United States and United Kingdom to Palawan, Mimaropa Chief of Police Wilben Mayor assures that the island and its nearby provinces are guaranteed safe to visit.

    In a report published by Inquirer, Chief Supt. Wilben Mayor of the Mimaropa (Occidental/Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan) Police was quoted “The Mimaropa police assures the public that the region is generally peaceful and both local and foreign tourists are safe to visit its beautiful tourist destinations.”

    According to Mayor, the regional police will remain on heightened alert with regard to the safety of the people going to Palawan. In the report, the Mimaropa Police were said to be in coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in case of any possible terror attacks.

    Meanwhile, the police encourages the citizens to remain calm and vigilant at all times, and help the security forces by reporting any suspicious persons and unusual occurrences in public.
