April 28 declared as non-working holiday by Malacanang
Malacanang has just declared April 27 and 28 to be non-working holidays in some parts of Metro Manila. This is due to the activities related to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit which is set to happenfrom April 26 to 29 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.

According to the memorandum released by Malacanang stated that work in government offices in the cities of Pasay, Manila, and Makati will be suspended on April 27, Thursday. In addition, work in both and private and government offices in the whole of Metro Manila will be suspended on the 28th, Friday.
It was also said that suspension of work on April 29, Saturday, is up to the discretion of the Local Government Units (LGUs) and/or the employers. This will be up to the assessment of the mentioned parties on the security and traffic management plans to be implemented during the said dates.
Classes in all levels in public and private institutions will also be suspended on April 28. Suspension of classes on April 27 in schools located Pasay, Makati, and Manila will be left to the discretion of the school heads.
Leaders of 9 other member-states of the ASEAN, as well as diplomats, are expected to attend the ASEAN Summit happening from April 26 to 29.
