TV5 to air 2 preliminary Miss Universe events
Filipinos will have a chance to see two of Miss Universe’s preliminary events as TV5 will be airing the swimsuit and long gown competition on January 28 and 29, 2017. This is prior to the grand coronation night which will take place on the 30th.

TV5 President Chot Reyes said that they have the exclusive rights for the pre-pageant as the two competitions happen separate from the coronation night which will be aired by Solar Entertainment. “Filipinos can look forward to watching their favourite contestants compete even before the grand finale, which is something only TV5 can offer,” Reyes stated.
Through PLDT and Smart, the events will also be available online on the same day, so fans who don’t have access to their televisions may watch the two competitions via their computers or mobile devices.
Solar Entertainment, the official media partner for the Miss Universe Pageant said that they are hoping that their partnerships with TV5, Smart, and PLDT will give their audience the Miss Universe experience without leaving the comforts of their homes.
“As the official broadcast partner of Miss Universe, Solar Entertainment shall bring unrivalled media coverage to every Filipino, happening on multiple networks and digital platforms from day one right through the coronation,” said Solar Entertainment President and CEO Wilson Tieng.
Miss Universe Philippines Maxine Medina, as well as over 80 candidates from other countries, will be vying for the crown which is currently held by Pia Wurtzbach on January 30 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
