The recognition was given by internationally-famous digital and print publisher Time Out Group at the 8-month old restaurant as regular customers nominated it online. According to its website, Romulo Café “aspires to be the destination restaurant for Filipino food in London, to open minds and palates to the rich tapestry of Filipino cooking, based on the experiences, traditions, and evolving tastes of the Filipinos.”
With its success in Manila, Romulo Café has reached one of the world’s vibrant food capitals, London, to share the “delicate and fresh flavours of Asia.” The café garnered the highest votes among nine short-listed restaurants in Kensington.
Romulo Café is owned by Rowena Romulo, granddaughter of the late diplomat and National Artist in the Philippines Carlos P. Romulo.
