  • Another month passed by and as we welcome the spookiest time of the year, Netflix is all set to bring us a number of new chilling movies and series to watch just in time for Halloween—of course, with a dash of some comedy and romance on the side as well!

    Here’s a list of movies and series to expect on Netflix this October:

    Vampires vs The Bronx

    Stumbling upon a  sinister plot to suck all the life from their beloved Bronx neighborhood, a group of gutsy teenagers from a rapidly gentrifying community are forced to protect their neighborhood from vampire invasion.

    Emily in Paris (Season 1)

    From the creator of Sex and The City, Emily in Paris is a new Netflix series that follows the adventure of Emily Cooper, a driven American marketing executive from Chicago, as she embraces her new life after landing the dream job in Paris while juggling work, friends, and romance in a foreign city.

    Hubie Halloween

    It’s Halloween in Salem, Massachusetts, and Hubie—the town’s not-so-popular guy, sets on an unexpected adventure when Halloween turns truly spooky as he finds himself in the middle of a real murder.

    Starring everyone’s favorite funnyman Adam Sandler, Hubie Halloween is a perfect comedy horror film we all need this upcoming Halloween!

    Blumhouse’s Fantasy Island

    The Haunting of Bly Manor

    Following the well-loved “The Haunting of Hill House,” this upcoming horror series proves that the dead doesn’t mean gone. 

    The Haunting of Bly Manor tells the story of a governess hired to look after the niece and nephew of the family country house’s caretaker. Arriving at the Bly estate, she plunges into an abyss of chilling secrets and begins to see apparitions that continue to haunt the premises.

    The Meg

    A 2018 science fiction action film directed by Jon Turteltaub, The Meg follows Jonas Taylor, a washed-out rescue diver, as he saves an underwater research facility under the threat of a monstrous 75 feet prehistoric Megalodon long thought extinct.

    A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting

    Based on the first installment of Joe Ballarini’s book series, A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting is an upcoming Netflix film that basically speaks for itself.

    Recruited by a secret society of babysitters, a high schooler battles the Boogeyman and his monsters when they nab the boy she’s watching on Halloween.

    Crazy Rich Asians

    Crazy Rich Asians is a blockbuster 2018 romantic comedy film based on the 2013 novel of the same name written by Kevin Kwan.

    Rebecca

    The Queen’s Gambit (Season 1)

    Over The Moon

    Directed by Legendary animator Glen Keane, Over The Moon is an animated family musical focused on an adventurous girl as she builds a rocket ship in the hopes of meeting the mythical moon goddess.

    Holidate

    Hating the idea of being single on holidays and being judged by their meddling families, Sloane and Jackson—two strangers, agree to be each other’s platonic plus-ones all year long, only to catch real feelings along the way. Holidate is directed by John Whitesell.
