How to Register Your Start-up Business Name
If you are planning to build a business in the Philippines, and you got all your concepts and capital ready, then it is about time for you to officially register your business name. Business Name registration is conducted through the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in which application can be processed online via bnrs.dti.gov.ph for Sole Proprietorship.
Present the requirements at any DTI office including two copies of duly accomplished application form signed by the owner and an original copy of one photo-bearing national issued Identification Document (ID)2 with signature.
Also, pay the registration fee according to your target business scope: P200 (Barangay), P500 (City/Municipality), P 1,000 (Regional), and P 2,000 (National). Pay an additional P15 for documentary stamp tax.
For foreign applicants, they are required to present the original and a clear certified copy of the Certificate of Authority to engage in business in the Philippines per Republic Act No. 7042 as amended (Foreign Investment Act), Republic Act No 8762 (Retail Trade Liberalization Law) or other similar laws, if applicable.
