  • LIST: Malls and Shopping Centers Open in Metro Manila Amid GCQ
  • It’s been two months since the Philippines was put under strict quarantine measures amid the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. It has caused many establishments such as malls, restaurants, and businesses to temporarily halt its services to comply with the government’s efforts to control the further spread of the virus in the country.

Now that the quarantine measures in Metro Manila were eased from Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) to General Community Quarantine (GCQ), establishments are granted to operate again given that they follow the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force and the Department of Trade and Industry.

This means that only limited industries are allowed to fully operate, while some are allowed to operate at 50%. In this case, malls and shopping centers around Metro Manila have already opened not for leisure activities but for essential needs only like grocery, hardware supplies, and more.
