LIST: Movies to Watch This March 2020
March is here! And as we all know, each new month brings us another list of movie premieres to watch out for. Our selection for this month may not be as long as our previous ones but it sure is stacked to the brim with highly anticipated films for all ages.
Ready your popcorns as here are the movie releases in the Philippines this March!
Onward (March 4)
Pixar’s Onward is an animated film about magic and brotherhood set at a suburban fantasy world. It follows Ian and Barley Lightfoot, two teenage elf brothers, who tried to bring back their late father for a day through a magical spell. Unfortunately, the spell they casted through their father’s wizard staff has failed causing them to only revive his bottom half.
With their half father in tow, the brothers go on a journey to find a magic stone that will restore the rest of their father’s body. Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus will give voice to the elf brothers and their mother.
The Way Back (March 5)
Academy Award winner Ben Affleck dons the character of Jack Cunningham, a former high school basketball prospect that never really lived up to his potential after leaving the game for unknown reasons. Fast forward to now, Jack, who struggles with alcoholism and the demise of his marriage, is offered a coaching job at his alma mater.
As his team came together and started winning games, will this finally be the time to confront the demons that halted his journey to the top? The Way Back is directed by Gavin O’Connor and written by Brad Ingelsby.
Bloodshot (March 11)
In Bloodshot, Vin Diesel stars as Ray Garrison, a slain soldier turned superhuman killing machine. A secret team of scientists brings Ray back to life through nanotechnology, wiping his memories in the process. But things turn sideways as the supersoldier started to remember his past including the man that killed him and his wife.
Hungry for revenge, he escapes from the facility only to discover that there is more to the conspiracy at hand. The film is based on the Valiant Comics character of the same name.
A Quiet Place II (March 18)
Perhaps A Quiet Place 2 is undoubtedly one of the most awaited sequels of 2020. It follows the Abbot Family as they continue to fight for survival in silence after the deadly events that took place in their home. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.
Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe reprise their roles from the first film as John Krasinski takes the directorial role and also stars in some flashback scenes.
Mulan (March 25)
Yifei Liu takes on the iconic character of Mulan for the live-action remake of the beloved Disney tale. Hua Mulan is a brave Chinese maiden who disguised as a male soldier to save her ailing father from serving in the Imperial Army. The epic journey transforms her into an honored warrior and earns her the respect of a grateful nation and a proud father.
The films also stars Donnie Yen, Jason Scott Lee, Yoson An, Gong Li, and Jet Li.
