NLEX Harbor Link Malabon Exit Is Now Open
Good news for motorists up north! The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Harbor Link’s Malabon exit has officially opened.
The Malabon exit of the NLEX Harbor Link C3-R10 section formally opened on February 21. This section will allow motorists to travel straight from the Caloocan Interchange to Dagat-Dagatan Avenue in Malabon City.
With this segment of the road open, motorists, specifically truckers and freight forwarders will have an alternate route from NLEX to the Port Area. This will further help commerce as goods will be delivered faster and also allow motorists to bypass EDSA and Manila.
The NLEX Harbor Link Malabon Exit
The opened section will start from the Caloocan Interchange to C3 Road in Caloocan City to Radial Road 10 in Navotas City. It will be connected to the previously opened NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 that passes through 5th Avenue/C3 Roa in Caloocan City, Karuhatan in Valenzuela City, and Governor Pascual Avenue in Malabon City.
While the entire NLEX Harbor Link will stretch 2.6 kilometers, the opened section will only encompass about 1.2 kilometers until Malabon Exit. The project is set to finish by March 2020, allowing easier access to the North and the port area for frequent travelers to the area.
Once finished, it is expected to greatly reduce travel time from an hour to just ten minutes.
Construction on the Dagat-Dagatan section
The project is part of the Duterte administration’s “Build, Build, Build” infrastructure program that continuously builds roads, bridges, and mass urban transportation for the benefit of the people in the country. The NLEX Harbor Link project is set to ease traffic congestion and enable easier commerce between the Harbor area, Central Luzon and North Luzon.
Other projects in the “Build, Build, Build” program include the Central Luzon Link Expressway, the NLEX – SLEX Connector Road, BGC – Ortigas Road Link, and the NAIA Expressway Phase II among others.
