Grand Seiko Introduces Its 60th Anniversary Collection
When it comes to watchmaking, Japan has clearly established its reputation in making modern and innovative timepieces. In fact, Seiko is the first watch brand to build quartz wristwatches, which attracted a lot of watch lovers.
Celebrating its 60 years of excellency, Grand Seiko introduced its 60th Anniversary Collection last January 31 at Lexus Manila Showroom.
The event puts the spotlight on outstanding watches, which accentuate the key components of Grand Seiko—watch precision, elegance, and Japanese Authenticity.
Particularly, the anniversary collection includes Heritage Collection Hi-Beat 36000 Limited Edition, Elegance Collection Women’s Automatic Limited Edition, Heritage Collection Quartz Limited Edition, and Sport Collection Quartz Limited Edition.
Heritage Collection Hi-Beat 36000 Limited Edition is a classy watch, ideal for those who’s more into elegant style. This timepiece highlights its high definition dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.

Apart from its high definition dual, the Elegance Collection Women’s Automatic Limited Edition boasts its sophisticated design as its bezel is embellished with 45 diamonds.

Meanwhile, the Heritage Collection Quartz Limited Edition features its unique adjustment function that enables the hour hand to be adjusted without affecting the seconds hand.

Lastly, the Sport Collection Quartz Limited Edition can be paired with any kind of outfit. This timepiece is perfect for gentlemen who are always on the go. Other than that, its ceramic bezel adds up to the watch’s polished design.

Beyond that, the demonstration of Craftsman Takuya Nishinika was one of the key highlights in the event. He showed the guests how to assemble a watch, as well as shared his thoughts and techniques on creating timepieces.

Nishinaka is a pioneer in watch production. He joined Seiko Epson in 2009 and is currently training the younger generation of craftsmen.
Due to his passion for his craft, he bagged several awards including Gold Medal on Japan Technical Skill Olympic in watch repairing section in 2012 and the 1st Level National Certificate of Skilled Watch Craftsman.

“We know how big the watch collector community has grown in the Philippines, with many enthusiasts going for luxury brands that have a long, proud heritage such as that of the Grand Seiko,” said Seiko’s long-time business partner President Karl Dy.
“We are proud to bring in the Grand Seiko concept store to the country, especially with the expertise that has been shared with us by Craftsman Nishinaka, to demonstrate the technology that goes inside each timepiece,” Dy added.
During the event, he also discussed the elements that make Grand Seiko what it is now such as its brand identity and core values.
