  • The season of love is already here! Have you already planned a date with your significant other? A movie date may sound traditional and old, but hey, it’s a great conversation starter and all in all just a chill way to spend your Valentine’s Day.

    Whether you’re into thriller or drama films, you (and your partner) will definitely love this line-up of film releases this February!

    Ashfall (February 1)

    Inactive since 1903, the volcano in Baekdu Mountain erupts at an unpredicted time, which caused destruction on the whole country of Korea. A group of professionals from South and North Korea has to join forces and be a team to save the Peninsula. Ashfall stars renowned Korean artists including Lee Byung-hun, Ha Jung-woo, Ma Dong-seok, and Jeon Hye-jin.

    1917 (February 5)

    In April 1917 during the First World War, two British soldiers are asked to deliver a message to the enemy’s territory and if not received in time, 1,600 lives will be affected. 1917 cast includesDean-Charles Chapman, George MacKay, and Daniel Mays.

    Birds of Prey (February 7)

    The film focuses on the life of Harley Quinn after separating from Joker. Roman Sionis and his partner Zsasz put a target on a young girl, Cass. Harley joins other superheroes including Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to save this young girl from the evildoings of the crime lord.  The film features Margot Robbie, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jurnee Smollett Bell, and Ewan McGregor.

    Fantasy Island (February 14)

    The mysterious Mr. Roarke makes the lucky guests’ dreams come true at a luxurious resort in Blumhouses’s Fantasy Island. However, the dreams turned into nightmares. Guests have to solve the mysteries behind the island in order to save their lives. Fantasy Island is directed by Jeff Wadlow and written by Jeff Wadlow, Chris Roach, and Jillian Jacobs.

    Sonic The Hedgehog Movie (February 14)

    Adapted from the video game Sonic, the live-action adventure film follows the misadventures of Sonic and found a new friend Tom Wachowski. Both aim to stop the evil actions of Dr. Robotnik as he wanted to make use of Sonic’s powers for him to dominate the world. James Marsden and Ben Schwarts will give voice to the main characters in the animated film.

    Downhill (February 14)

    Directed by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, the plot follows a family who’s having a ski vacation. However, the married couple is thrown into chaos which is why they are compelled to reevaluate their lives and figure out how they feel with each other.

    Brahms: The Boy II (February 21)

    A family moves to Heelshire Mansion and do not have any idea about its dark past. Their young son suddenly becomes fond of playing with a doll, which he calls Brahms. Eerily, this life-like doll started to spread terror in the family. The horror film is directed by William Brent Ball and written by Stacey Menear.

    The Call of the Wild (February 21)

    Based on the literary classic of the same name, The Call of the Wild revolves around Buck, a selfless dog whose life crumbles after being stolen from his California home. During the Gold Rush of the 1890s, Buck is sold to the wilds of Alaskan Yukon, making Buck the newest rookie in a mail-delivery dog sled team.
