  • MMDA Suspends Number Coding Scheme for the 2019 Holiday Season
  • In observance of the holiday season, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has an advisory regarding number coding suspensions for the 2019 holidays.

The suspension of the Unified Vehicle Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) will affect provincial buses, as well as private and other public utility vehicles.

The UVVRP or the number coding scheme is a system implemented to lessen the number of vehicles on major Metro Manila roads by banning vehicles based on the last number on its license plate.

The suspension of number coding for provincial buses will be observed on the following dates:

    • December 23
    • December 24
    • December 25
    • December 26
    • December 27
    • December 30
    • December 31
    • January 1, 2020
    • January 2, 2020

The number coding for provincial buses was made to give way to passengers who will be going to and from the provinces this holiday season.

On the other hand, suspension for private and other public utility vehicles will be observed on these dates:

    • December 23
    • December 24
    • December 25
    • December 30
    • December 31
    • January 1, 2020

During the dates of suspension, all law enforcement units are restricted from apprehending vehicles for any violation related to number coding.
