PH Named 8th Favorite Country in the World
The Philippines placed 8th among the Top 20 Countries in the World of the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2019, which took place at the One World Trade Center in New York City.
The country garnered a score of 90.63 from the 600,000 readers of the said travel magazine, mentioning some exciting activities to do in the Philippines. These include island-hopping, diving, shopping, and eating.

Department of Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said in a statement: “Gaining yet another prestigious recognition as the 8th Favorite Country in the World speaks well of concerted efforts of the Philippine tourism industry stakeholders in nurturing the many natural wonders the country is blessed with.”
Other countries that made it to the list are Indonesia, Thailand, Portugal, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Peru, Greece, Italy, and Vietnam. See the full list here.
Meanwhile, Condé Nast Traveler also created a guide to the Philippines’ well-known islands, highlighting the beautiful archipelago of Coron and El Nido.
Recently, Boracay was awarded by the renowned travel magazine as the best island in Asia. Along with Boracay are local destinations Cebu and Visayas islands ranking second, and Palawan taking the fourth place.
