  • Experience Japanese ‘Konbini’ at the World’s Largest FamilyMart in BGC
  • Japanese convenience store chain, FamilyMart, is set to open its largest branch in the Philippines. The said branch will also give its customers the chance to have an authentic konbini experience—as if they are entering a convenience store in Japan themselves. Watch out for its opening this November in the UDENNA Tower, BGC, Taguig City!

Konbini is what Japanese locals call convenience stores. You will find them everywhere in any Japanese town or city and can easily be a part of anybody’s travel itinerary as Japanese convenience stores have a lot of great things to offer.

The new FamilyMart branch is said to give its customers a complete Japanese konbini experience by offering store-exclusive Japanese eats, as well as food that will be prepared right in front of their customers. This is in addition to their already existing Japanese food offerings at FamilyMart. This ensures that customers won’t run out of options at the new FamilyMart branch.

The branch is expected to be around 390 sqm. It will feature a 40-seater dining space, much bigger than any of their current stores. It will also house function rooms for studying, working, and even conducting meetings—making it a one-stop-shop, especially for the millennials and working professionals.

FamilyMart first came to the Philippines in 2013 before being acquired by Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc., in 2017. At present, they have over 65 stores scattered across Mega Manila. FamilyMart is the second-largest convenience store retail chain in the world since it first opened in 1973. With an estimate of 18,000 stores, FamilyMart is the first Japanese convenience store chain to go global and to operate in countries such as the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, China, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia.

The store aims to provide its customers with quality everyday essentials that are accessible to all. Many would know FamilyMart for their Japanese meals and ready-to-eat offerings such as their pastries and packed meals. They’re also known for their Twirl-All-You-Can soft serve ice cream and their Japanese offerings that include sushi, ramen, and even rice bowls.

You’ll also find coffee blends from the Japanese coffee company, UCC, at FamilyMart. Recently, they launched “Coffee Creations” at FamilyMart which features two new coffee drinks curated by UCC that you can get in brewed or over ice.
