    The Japanese Government is now officially accepting applications for the position of Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) by virtue of the 2020 Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme.

    Set to sail in 2020, interested Filipino language teachers may already send their applications for the ALT position for Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme until November 29.

    Accepted applicants will be assigned either in a private or public school or even in the local boards of education in the particular prefecture or municipality, where they would perform their responsibilities as assistants of the Japanese English teachers.

    Particularly, they are expected to lend their hands in preparing teaching materials, planning and supervising students in extracurricular activities, and organizing cultural or international exchange programs.

    Some of the primary requirements for eligibility include being a Filipino citizen who is at least a Bachelor’s degree graduate of any course and being an excellent English communicator whether in written or verbal form.

    Applicants must also possess no record of living in Japan for the totality of six or more years since 2010. They must have a foreboding interest in Japan’s education system, as well as not having participated in nor declined any position for the program.

    Further, additional evaluation points shall be given to applicants who possess any of the following: a Bachelor’s degree or a higher distinction in English or Education courses, a professional language teaching license, a general teaching experience or qualifications, and a Japanese language background.

    The JET Programme has long been running since 1987 with the prime purpose of advancing the internationalization of the Japanese communities as well as forging better relationships with other nations.
