NHCP Releases Month-Long Events for History Month 2019
August marks the country’s National Language Month, as well as the Historical Month when Filipinos celebrate the nation’s historical past.
In line with this, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) has released a month-long event calendar with activities you can attend!

Former President Benigno Aquino signed the Proclamation No. 339—which declared August as History Month—in view of major events in Philippine history that occurred in this month.
The celebration concludes with National Heroes Day on August 30.

The National Historical Commission of the Philippines is mandated to undertake research and publication of Philippine historical works; educational activities on historical events and personages; restoration, preservation and conservation of movable and immovable objects of historical value and implementation of the National Historic Act of the Philippines; administration of historic sites, structures and memorabilia of national heroes; and blazoning of government symbols.
