General Pediatrics
Becoming a pediatrician was a childhood dream for Dr. Frances Kaori Togezaki-Lobendino. She has been in the practice since 2014 and is a Diplomate of the Philippine Pediatric Society.
She expressed her admiration for pediatricians as a child and it was this admiration that inspired her to pursue a path in medicine. Dr. Kaori typically starts the day at her clinic at home or by visiting her patients on house visits before proceeding to her regular clinic at The Medical City Sattelite Clinics. She commonly treats fevers, coughs, colds, and diarrhea. Dr. Kaori also administers vaccinations both at her clinics and her home clinic. Her approach towards her patients depend on their age groups.
Dr. Kaori noticed that during her house visits that the kids and their parents are more relaxed, because, for her, the atmosphere is less intimidating for kids and allows her to approach them without the children getting scared. She also has some toys in her home clinic that she allows kids to play with to ease their nervousness.
Dr. Togezaki-Lobendino advises future doctors to never give up because when you’re already practicing and treating patients, the feeling of being able to help people is very fulfilling.
