Starbucks Welcomes 2019 with New Drinks and Chinese New Year Collection
As 2019 rolls in, Starbucks introduces new drinks in their Teavana line that will surely take the tea lover out of you!
Starbucks Philippines launched their Teavana Tea Lattes, which are your regular old lattes but are switched up with some tea. The drinks launched last January 8, 2019 and feature four new flavors that highlight green (matcha) and black tea.
First up is their Oat Green Tea Latte (P160/tall; P175/grande; P190/venti) that you can also get in a Frappucino variant (P160/tall; P175/grande; P190/venti).
Matcha lovers, this is the perfect breakfast drink for you! The drink is quite heavy as it contains oats, granola, and dried fruit. While it has some oaty notes to it, the taste is primarily green tea.
Oat Green Tea and the Peach Black Tea Latte
If you’re up for something with a bolder kick, Starbucks also released two drinks with black tea. Black tea is known to have bolder and more intense flavors than most tea out there.
Try their Peach Black Tea Latte (P160/tall; P175/grande; P190/venti)—it’s light black tea made with creamy steamed milk with hints of peach and sweetness to it.
But if you’re up for something with bolder flavors and less sweetness, you would want to give their Chestnut Black Tea Latte (P160/tall; P175/grande; P190/venti) a try. The drink is composed of roasted chestnut sauce, black tea and steamed milk, topped with chestnut praline and dried strawberries.
Don’t forget that you can get your lattes hot or iced!
Along with their new drinks, Starbucks also celebrates the Lunar New Year with limited edition merchandise to welcome the Year of the Pig!
Starbucks 2019 Lunar New Year Collection features a mug and two pink tumblers complete with illustrations and other colorful details. They also released an exclusive Year of the Pig Starbucks card which, like all Starbucks cards, can be used to buy drinks and collect stars.
The first tumbler is a 12oz Water Globe Tumbler (Php 845) that features the cutest illustration of a pig. It will surely look perfect on desks at work or on display for collectors.

The next is a stainless steel Dancing Pigs Tumbler (Php 1,345), which is not only perfect for an afternoon tea run but also perfect for your Instagram feeds!

The Zodiac Pig Mug (Php 895) is another must-have from their Lunar New Year Collection. Not only is it cute to boot, but it’s also perfect for that cup of morning coffee when you’re feeling a bit lucky.
Pigs, for the Chinese, are symbols of wealth and prosperity that’s why Starbucks went all the way and also released a Coin Bank (Php 1,495) where you can store your loose change or even bills to prosper this year.
But you better hurry! The Coin Banks are very limited so if you’re interested in getting one, hurry to your nearest Starbucks branch!
