  • Pediatricians play a pivotal role in a child’s life. Not only are they doctors that ensure the child’s health, but they also serve as the parents’ partners in raising and watching the child grow.

This is actually one of the reasons why Dr. Mirabeth Ching opted to be a pediatrician. Get to know more about her in this medical feature.

    General Pediatrician

Dr. Mirabeth C. Ching, MD, DPPS is a general pediatrician who has been in practice for more than 10 years now. She graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in 2002 and completed her residency training at Philippine Children’s Medical Center. She considers her residency training to be one of the hardest parts of her medical life as working for a government-owned children’s hospital meant an unexplainable amount of workload.

Her choice to become a pediatrician stems from her enjoyment of being around kids. She also said that she finds a sense of fulfillment in being a part of every stage of her patient’s life. Further, she reiterated that being a pediatrician goes beyond the child’s treatments and doctor appointments as one also need to check on the welfare of their parents every now and then.

Dr. Ching is also an active advocate of breastfeeding. She encourages her patients to not only try breastfeeding but to also donate to human milk banks if they can, similar to what she did after her two pregnancies.
