Manila Road Closures on July 14-15 for Iglesia Ni Cristo Event
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced road closures for this weekend, July 14-15, 2018 to make way for the Worldwide Aid to Fight Poverty. The event is organized by the religious group Iglesia ni Cristo (INC), and is happening this July 15 at the Quirino Grandstand, Manila.
According to the MMDA announcement, the road closures on July 14 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. will include Independence Road, Katigbak Drive, and South Drive for the ingress. Road closures from 12:01 am onwards of July 15 will be as follows:
- Stretch of Road-10 from Moriones to Delpan Bridge
- Stretch of Bonifacio Drive from Delpan Bridge
- Stretch of Roxas Blvd. from Katigbak Drive to P. Ocampo
- East and Westbound lane of P. Burgos from Lagusnilad to Roxas Blvd.
- Finance Road from Taft Ave. to P. Burgos
- The westbound lane of TM Kalaw from M.H. del Pilar to Roxas Blvd.
- The westbound lane of Pres. Quirino from M.H. del Pilar to Roxas Blvd.
To avoid these, MMDA will be rerouting traffic as follows:
- All vehicles on Southbound lane of R-10 going to Bonifacio Drive shall turn left on Moriones Street to point of destination
- All vehicles coming from Pasay area intending to use the northbound lane of Roxas Blvd. shall turn right to P. Ocampo St. or use Roxas Blvd. service road to point of destination
- All vehicles coming from three bridges (Quezon, McArthur, and Jones) intending to use the southbound lane of Roxas Blvd. shall go straight to Taft Ave. to point of destination
- All vehicles coming from Ayala bridge going to Roxas Blvd. shall turn left to Taft Ave., turn right to T. M. Kalaw, left on M. H. Del Pilar St. to point of destination
- All vehicles using the westbound lane of Pres. Quirino shall turn left on Mabini St. to point of destination
- Heavy vehicles and cargo trucks shall take Pres. Osmeña, to Pres. Quirino going to Nagtahan via AH Lacson to Yuseco to Capulong to R-10 (and vice versa).
