Those who are interested for posts in their Barangay or Sangguniang Kabataan (Youth Council) may file their Certificates of Candidacy from April 14 to April 21. The campaign period for those who will be accepted as candidates will start on May 4 and end on May 12. The Comelec strictly prohibits any form of campaigning on May 13, a day before the elections.

The Comelec also advised all potential candidates against giving gifts in cash or in kind, construction of barangay-funded roads and bridges, and promotions or approval of salary increases as they are considered as a form of campaigning. The Comelec also reminds voters that no one is allowed to carry firearms or other deadly weapons on the day of the elections. Alteration of precincts is also prohibited.

For safe and honest elections, let us abide by these rules set by the Commission of Elections.
