  • In a show called Side by Side, NHK Japan will be featuring Hajime Yokota’s work to help Philippines break the cycle of poverty.

Yokota, who founded a nonprofit organization which aims to help less fortunate Filipinos, shows us the work he does through the use of scissors. The show will give viewers a glimpse of Yokota’s work in the Philippines as he teaches children the art of hairdressing and how it can help cultivate their talents and learn new skills.

The show will air on February 14 and 15, 2018. You may watch the show at NHK World channel in the Philippines at the following (JST) time slots: 10:30 am, 4:30 pm, and 7:30 pm on February 14 and at 4:30 pm on February 15. You may also watch it live on NHK World TV Live‘s website.
