Medical Professionals in Manila: Dr. Marie Rutchelle Darvin, Pediatrics
If you’re looking for someone who can cater the needs of your newborn or children, get to know Dr. Marie Rutchelle Darvin!
Marie Rutchelle Darvin M.D.
General Pediatrics
Dr. Darvin is a pediatrician by profession. For her, she did not choose the medical profession; rather, it chose her. She has been in the medical field for about 14 years and usually starts her day by doing rounds for her in-patients. She also holds her clinic for about 2-3 hours every day. She took her undergraduate degree in biology at the University of the Philippines-Diliman, her medical degree at the De La Salle University – Health Sciences Institute, and completed her pediatric training at the Makati Medical Center.
She believes that all doctors are trained to face emergency cases and to think under pressure, but hopes that her patients don’t suffer from severe cases and can be given easy remedies. Her advice for people who would want to venture the medical field is “to be patient, be focused, be compassionate, have empathy towards the patients, and have a clear head. It’s really hard work not just mentally but also physically. It’s a continuous education; you don’t stop educating yourself. It’s also a calling where you have to give your all.”
As a pediatrician, Dr. Darvin offers the following services: treatment for newborn jaundice, Chickenpox and Measles treatment, Bronchial Asthma treatment, growth & development evaluation & management, congenital disorders evaluation & treatment, and evaluation and treatment of genetic diseases.
