Aside from these people, there were also experts who were also present like Dr. Remil Gelay, Assistant Professor from the UP College of Veterinary Medicine, and Dr. Ta-Li Lu, Cardiologist at Cardiospecial vetirinary hospital in Taiwan to discuss pressing animal health topics like tick biology, tick-borne disease, current situation of canine TBDs in the Philippines and, vector-borne disease management and diagnostics.
Dr. Susanne Siebert of Bayer’s Global Companion Animal Marketing Group introduces Bayer’s new dog and cat collar which provides up to eight months continuous protection against fleas and ticks.
In dogs, many of these tick and flea diseases can be lethal and hard to be treated, meaning that prevention is key to their management. The most effective disease prevention technique is to stop parasites from biting, commonly referred to as ‘repellency’, which help reduce the risk of disease transmission. However, through Bayer Animal Health’s latest product, the Seresto, it will provide pets up to eight months of continuous protection, even through a single application.
Poopie the dog gets to try Bayer’s new collar during the product demonstration at the launch.
Seresto® is unique in combining the leading insecticides, imidacloprid and the highly effective acaricide flumethrin. These compounds are embedded in an innovative waterproof, odor-free collar made of a polymer matrix. The collar’s materials ensure that the active ingredients are consistently released in low dosages that is friendly not only to furrents but to furbabies as well. It can be purchased through a prescription of an authorized veterinarian and is avaible in a collar of two sizes that can be worn by both cats and dogs, designed to stay securely in place and effectively provides long-term protection against fleas and ticks for up to eight months.
