  • The presence of technology in a workplace is not always a sign of productivity. But if you work with the right tools and with the right principles, then you’re on the right path towards ultimate productivity.

Advocating digitization in the workplace, Canon Marketing Philippines, Inc. (CPMI) has brought forth its first-ever technology and solutions expo, Canon POP: The Pros of Productivity. From October 17 to 18, CPMI gathered champions and leaders of productivity, technology, and data security in various fields on one stage at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel to share valuable insights on how businesses can further productivity in the workplace.

The expo started with a bang on its first day with speakers like Jubert Alberto (Country Head of International Data Corporation), Atty. Francis Acero (Complaints and Investigations Chief, National Privacy Commission), Jojo Bolima (Senior Director for Office Imaging Products), Arnold Endaya (Assistant Director for Canon Business Solutions and Professional Services), Andres Licaros Jr. (President and CEO, Asian Hospital and Medical Center), Arnel Sechong (Head of Procurement, DHL Business Services), and Rene Banzon (Deputy General Manager, SIA Engineering).

Atty. Francis Acero of National Privacy Commission talks about data protection, data privacy compliance, and more.

The second day of the expo has been equally exciting with a long line-up of speakers, which include Mon Ibrahim (Undersecretary, Department of Information and Communications Technology), Jonathan Yabut (Founder and Managing Director, JY Consultancy & Ventures), Jan Aliling (Managing Director, Acube Law), Fr. Generoso B. Rebayla, Jr., SVD (Vice President for Administration, University of San Carlos), Ann Barrameda (Founder, Abba’s Orchard), and Acmad Rizaldy Moti (President and CEO, Pag-IBIG).

There were also panel discussions and Q&A with the day’s speakers.

Canon Philippines President Kazuhiro Ozawa himself graced the expo with his own insights on productivity at work. He shared the three pillars of productivity: the people, the workplace, and the policy, which can all be influenced by technology. In following the path of digitization, businesses can utilize more space in the office for people rather than for documents, secure long-term storage of data, and retrieve files more efficiently.

The expo also featured an exhibit of all Canon solutions and products that can truly aid businesses in digitization and productivity boost. “Canon is not the cheapest brand … [but] Canon itself is a very reliable product,” Ozawa said. “Solutions and cost of ownership [are] not so expensive compared to other products.”

When asked what his goal is for Canon in the country next year, Ozawa said that his “mission is to revitalize Canon operation more in the Philippines. What we are targeting is productivity improvement for customers [and] delighting customers always by using our products.”
