  • Hallohallo Inc., JV company of Mitsubishi Corp., and Ayala Land are working together to build the first Japanese commercial complex in the Philippines, expected to open in the last quarter of 2017. Featuring the best of Japanese cuisine, retail, and entertainment, the complex will stand on the rooftop of Glorietta in Makati.

    The 2,500-sqm Japan-themed commercial complex will feature an innovative entertainment complex run by teamLab, a group of ultra-technologists that specialize in digital art and interactive exhibitions. It will present two faces, the Day and the Night. At night, the place will be a setting for music-and-lights events and parties. During the day, it will be a place for children and family entertainment.

    The upcoming female idol group MNL48, the Philippine version of Japan’s AKB48, is also expected to perform in the entertainment complex twice weekly. Fans will likewise be able to purchase MNL48 merchandise.

    Led by Hallohallo Inc., select restaurants and shops will come from Japan. Food lovers will enjoy authentic drinks and Japanese dishes. And people who seek quality shopping experience will find original and high-quality Japanese items, featuring character items, beauty products and more from Animate and @cosme.

    Hallohallo Inc., Mistubishi Corp. and Ayala Land expects to attract hundreds of thousands of customers yearly, banking on the Filipinos’ love for Japanese food and affinity for the Japanese culture.
