  • LOOK: Beautiful murals at SM Aura for ‘Art in Aura’ Campaign
  • If you happen to walk around SM Aura, make sure to check out the brilliant art displays at the mall’s entrance that’s facing Market! Market!.

All of these are part of SM Aura Premiere’s campaign titled “Art in Aura.”

Large scale murals and installations can be sighted at the upscale shopping mall. In an article written at www.thefortcity.com, SM Aura Premiere has partnered with local up and coming artists, who are continuously contributing globally and locally to the innovating world of art.

The designs you will see in the mall feature the works of Anina Rubio, Mercedes Olondriz, and Archie Oclos.

    Anina Rubio

Watercolor artist, calligraphist and illustrator Anina Rubio takes pride on her work that can be seen on the right side of the escalators. Her work entitled “Through the Cracks,” features common household flowers which represent Filipino’s resiliency and adaptabililty.

She has done mural works at Greenbelt Malls, glass artworks, personalized notebooks, designing travel journals, and more!

    Mercedes Olondriz

The artwork of freelance artist Mercedes Olondriz can be seen by the staircase of SM Aura. Her “Flaura” depicts her goal to bring back organic elements into the urban landscape. Prominent influences in her work include that of the natural world, the environment, and her surroundings.

    Archie Oclos

While the other two focused on flowers and delicate patterns, UP Fine Arts graduate Archie Oclos wanted to introduce his artwork of traditional Kalinga tattoo artist Apo Whang Od and T’boli weave master Lang Dulay.

Expect more art from different artists from all over the country to be showcased within the whole year. Head on over to SM Aura and take a selfie in front of these amazing murals!
