Trump visit to PH likely to happen in November
A visit from U.S. President Donald Trump may happen within the year. He’s likely to visit the country during the 31st ASEAN Summit happening on November… or, at least, that’s what it looks like.

According to Ambassador Marciano Paynor Jr., Director-General for Operations of the ASEAN 2017 National Organizing Council, said Trump had “verbally” confirmed his attendance when he and President Rodrigo Duterte called him up upon winning the U.S. Presidential Elections in December 2016.
“President Trump, for instance, when President Duterte called him up to congratulate him, had already indicated that he was coming in November,” Paynor said in a press conference in Malacañang.

He also expects all ASEAN leaders and their dialogue partners like the United States to be present during the ASEAN Summit in Clark, Pampanga on November 10-14. “Multilateral meetings of this sort, we usually expect 100 percent attendance,” Paynor said.
The 31st ASEAN Summit, which will happen at Clark Field, Pampanga, will be the second of two ASEAN Summits that will be held in the country this year. The 30th ASEAN Summit will take place on April 26-29 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.
