Launched last year, the Dengvaxia was made available in clinics in 2016 by the Department of Health (DOH). As the first retailer to offer the said vaccine over the counters, Watsons announces to be the first retailer to offer it to the market.

In a report by PhilStar, Watsons Trading Health Director Danilo Chiong said that “As part of our commitment to improve the lives and health of Filipinos by making health care more accessible to them, we decided to offer dengue vaccination in our select stores nationwide.”

According to the report, each dose will cost about P4,000. Three doses of vaccine are needed in a zero-six-12 month interval, which all in all costs P12,000 for the complete dose. The dengue vaccine can be administered from people ages 9 to 45 years old.

The Dengvaxia will be available in over 100 select Watsons stores nationwide. The first scheduled dengue vaccination date starts in April 30, 2017 (1st dose), October 29, 2017 (2nd dose), and April 29, 2018 (3rd dose).
