Fil-Am chef among ‘Best Chef’ nominees for ‘2017 Restaurant and Chef Awards’ in US
In an announcement published by jamesbeard.org, Filipino-American chef Tom Cunanan of Bad Saint restaurant is among the nominees in the James Beard Foundation’s “2017 Restaurant and Chef Awards” under the Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic category.
Chef Cunanan co-owns the Filipino restaurant Bad Saint in Washington, D.C with Genevieve Villamora and Nick Pimentel.
The 2017 Restaurant and Chef Awards is organized by the James Beard Foundation , a national not-for-profit organization based in New York City, to celebrate, nurture, and honor chefs and other leaders making America’s food culture more delicious, diverse, and sustainable for everyone.
The Foundation’s Media Awards will take place at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers in New York City on April 25, 2017 while the Awards Gala will be held at the Lyric Opera of Chicago on May 1, 2017
