Manila debuts in 2017 Forbes Travel Guide as ‘next luxury destination’
For the very first time, Manila is on Forbes list of global luxury travel destinations.
Global authority on luxury travel Forbes Travel Guide has recently released its list of their 2017 Star Award Winners, with Manila included on the said list. The winners, which only comprise of the locations with properties that meet “hospitality standards,” are rated by their professional inspectors who travel to assess hotels, restaurants, and spas based on objective standards.
The Forbes Travel Guide rates world’s best properties through a star rating system (Five Star, Four Star, and Recommended awards). For Manila, five-star rated hotels include Marco Polo Ortigas Manila and Sky Tower at Solaire Resort and Casino. For four-star hotels, Fairmont Makati, Hyatt City of Dreams Manila, Raffles Makati, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, were mentioned. For recommended hotels, Makati Shangri-La and Pan Pacific Manila were also part of the list.
In an article posted in Forbes called “Why Manila Is The Next Luxury Hot Spot,” writer Jennifer Kester said that “The Philippines capital carved a new niche for itself as a glitzy gambling hub different from any other.” It also mentioned other attractions in Manila such as theaters, vast nightlife options, beaches, and even Filipino Hospitality.
Also, the article mentioned that by 2019, Resorts World Bayshore will make Manila its home which will contain sprawling complexes with luxury hotels, fine dining, gaming, entertainment to further establish Manila as a luxury destination.
