The LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design has become of the standards for buildings, home, communities and other establishments, maintained and operated for improved environmental and human health performance.
According to LEED consultant, Mr. Raymond Andrew Sih, SM Aura had exceeded its international standard in thermal comfort, indoor air quality, then energy and water efficiency. Mr. Sih cited the mall’s own waste water treatment plan and stated that the mall was built with environment in mind. Also, he mentioned that almost a third of construction materials were locally sourced, and over 20 percent of the cost of construction materials were from recycled materials, and 95 percent of the construction waste was recycyled.
SM Aura Premiere also has a Sky Park which covers more than half of the building, which provides visitors with a great place to dine, and at the same time, gives plants plenty of soil, recycled water, and room to grow while protecting from the heat of the sun.
Apart from this outdoor green feature, SM Aura also maintains good indoor air quality for its occupants. The mall is also conveniently located where one can walk or bike to various businesses, offices, homes, public amenities, and transportation facilities.
