JAL launches flight which allows passengers to fly with their pets
Japan’s flag carrier airline Japan Airlines (JAL) has recently allowed passengers and their pets to travel together in the main cabin, in a special flight service called “Wan Wan Jet.”
JAL’s first Wan Wan Jet charter service flew from Narita Airport to Kagoshima Prefecture in Southwestern Japan last January 27. For ¥150,000, the package tour will let owners and their dogs to stay together in a hotel and go sightseeing in rented cars.
In a report published by Daily Mail UK, when JAL announced its dog-friendly service, it was already fully-booked within an hour. According to JAL’s airline official, “air travel with pets will lead to opening of new markets for domestic flights.”
41-year-old employee Toshihiko Kai, said that “it was painful for me to check in my dog as luggage at airport counters as it always barks. Today it feels safe as it is beside me.”
