Fil-Am named as White House Assistant Press Secretary
A Filipino-American was appointed as the White House Assistant Press Secretary for the Trump administration.
23-year-old Ninio Fetalvo, who used to be the Asian Pacific American Press Secretary for the Republican National Committee (RNC), was chosen as one of four assistant press secretaries who will work under the team of Press Secretary Sean Spicer. Fetalvo used to work for Spicer at the RNC.
“It’s truly a very humbling experience. It’s a real honor to work on behalf of our country and the American people. I’m really excited to see what President Trump and Vice President [Mike] Pence accomplish to truly make the country great again,” Fetalvo told the Asian Journal in a report published on January 28.
Fetalvo will cover issues regarding healthcare, education, transportation, and veterans’ affairs as one of Spicer’s assistants.
Fetalvo was born to Bicolano parents who emigrated to the U.S., finding a home in Fort Myers, Florida. According to his LinkedIn profile, he graduated from The George Washington University with a degree in Political Communication in 2014 and worked as an intern for the RNC from November 2013.
