Smart taps Metro Manila for LTE network coverage
In a statement release by Smart Communications Incorporated last January 15, they said that it is undertaking major network expansion in Metro Manila over the next 3 months.
With the good news released by the wireless giant, customers can experience better service with their improved coverage, quality voice calls, SMS, and mobile internet.
Within the next three months to boost the coverage, Smart will be deploying new base station in 2,500 cell sites across Metro Manila that use low-frequency bands such as 700 megahertz (MHz), 850 MHz, and 900 MHz for its LTE and 3G services.
The telecommunication company has noted that the biggest improvements will be seen in indoor LTE coverage, which will quadruple and doubled in 3G indoor coverage.
“This is a key part of our efforts to transform the PLDT and Smart network into the country’s most future-ready data infrastructure, delivering a wide range of gigabit digital solutions,” said Manuel V. Pangilinan, chairman and CEO of Smart and PLDT.
Earlier this month, Smart began to overhaul program in Boracay and Davao, and is planning to bring the roll out in other parts of the Philippines to improve the mobile internet experience of the rest of its user base.
According to chief technology and information adviser for Smart and PLDT, Joachim Horn, the LTE expansion coverage is just a part of the broader effort to improve the overall activity of service available to all Smart, Sun Cellular, and Talk N’ Text subscribers.
