    A Chinese investor has been exploring Davao City in search for potentional sites for an Aqua-culture processing plant. If pushed through, this will be a good way to create more jobs for the Davaoenos.

    The Zhe Jian Fang Yuan Ship Industry Co. Ltd. is looking for an area where they could build a plant which will process marine products for export to China and its other markets in the world. Headed by Chairman Wen Lin Jin, the company explained their plans last Monday to Davao City Investment and Promotion Center Head, Lemuel Ortonio.

    “The plant will process marine products to dried foods that will be exported mainly to China,” Ortoniosaid.

    The corporation promised that this project will create more job opportunities to the people of Davao even if the business is owned by Chinese investors. Ortonio stated that this will also bring in more opportunity for the city’s economy to develop.

    Aside from creating job opportunities, the company is also said to have plans to build and repair ships as part of the aqua-culture plant. They will also be providing the latest technology on fishing in the fulfilment of this business.

    Ortonio said that Mr Wen Lin’s decision to invest in Davao after Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s visit in China last year.
