  • In an article published on the World Electronic Sports Games (WESG) website, Filipino player Euniel “Staz” Javiñas of PH Alliance is declared as the champion of the 2016 Hearthstone WESG Grand Final presented by Alipay.

    Staz went up against Jon “Orange” Westberg from Sweden in the Grand Final and won with the score of 4-3.

    Staz will take home $150,000 or about P7.5 million, the biggest cash prize of the year outside of Blizzards’ Hearthstone Championship Tour.

    In an interview with mineski.net, Staz described his experience and said “WESG is the best. I am having a wonderful time here at Changzhou, China.”

    The World Electronic Sports Games is an international eSports championship tournament based in Shanghai and organized by AliSports. Meanwhile, Hearthstone is a free-to-play online collectible card video game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment.
