5 Filipino stars in ‘Aladdin’ Disney Musical

Filipino-American stage actor and singer, Adam Jacob along with other 4 Filipinos are cast at the ‘Aladdin’ Disney Musical which began performances this January.

Jacob has recently played as Simba in The Lion King, Marius in Les Miserables, landed lead roles in the national and regional tours of Zorro, Once on this Island, Ordinary Days, Mamma Mia, and Cinderella among others. And now, he will play as ‘Aladdin’ in the said musical.

Dan Darryl Rivera, born in Seatlle will star as Lago, and is ecstatic on his Broadway debut. 3 more Filipinos including Bobby Pestka, Joshua dela Cruz and Angelo Soriano will also be part of the hit musical and will be showcasing variety of singing and dancing.

In addition to the musical’s spectacular music, the production has brought life to the story, including a more sophisticated relationship between Aladdin and Jasmine.

Hailed by USA Today as “Genie-us” ‘Aladdin’ the Musical is said to have a tour in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, and Japan.
