Emperador’s Solera Reserva took home the Silver award, classifying it as a highly-recommended brandy, as well being awarded the “Best Buy” among the 14 other winners for the Dark Brandy category. Emperador Light, on the other hand, won bronze or “recommended”. The Best Buy Award recognizes spirits or wines that provide uncommon value.
Other winners include brandies from the United States, France, Georgia, Moldova, and Mexico. The Beverage Tasting Institute in Chicago organizes the International Review of Spirits. This year, they also did blind tasting reviews on some of the world’s best liquors, including Johnnie Walker and Dewar’s from Scotland, Puerto Rico’s Bacardi, Jim Beam of the US, and Jägermeister Liquer of Germany.
