  • ADVISORY: Expect heavier traffic as MMDA lifts number-coding for Dec. 23
  • Expect a higher volume of traffic tomorrow, December 23, as MMDA’s Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP), commonly referred to as the number coding scheme, will be lifted to make way for Filipinos making their way to the provinces for Christmas.

In an advisory posted on their Facebook page, MMDA said the lifting of the number coding scheme for private vehicles was “in anticipation of the exodus of Metro Manila residents going to the provinces for Christmas break.”

Provincial buses will also add to traffic volume as i-ACT earlier lifted the number coding scheme for them starting at 1:00 pm today. The lifting of the number coding scheme also covers tomorrow, December 23.

We advise everyone to take advantage of alternate routes, also known as “Mabuhay lanes”, and other side streets to avoid being stuck in traffic.
