Forbes releases list of world’s most powerful people in 2016; Duterte on the list
American business magazine Forbes has released their list of World’s Most Powerful People this 2016 for their annual rankings.

First on the list is Russian President Vladimir Putin, being the world’s most powerful on the list for four consecutive years, followed by recently-elected US President Donald Trump in second. For this year, 74 people made it on the list with 11 new names on the annual rank.

Among the newcomers on the list is Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte who placed 70th, with barely just six months since he assumed presidency in July. As described by Forbes, “Duterte’s tendency to say what he thinks, no matter how raw, keeps him in the headlines.”
Part of the top 10 list is Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel on the third place, China President Xi Jinping on fourth place, head of the Roman Catholic Church Pope Francis on fifth, US Federal Reserve System Chair Janet Yellen placing on the sixth spot, American business magnate Bill Gates on seventh place, Alphabet CEO Larry Page on eighth, India Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 9th place and on the last spot of the top 10 is Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
