10 Miss Universe candidates arrive in Manila
A welcome party happened at the Conrad Hotel in Pasay City on December 11 (Saturday) to welcome the 10 Miss Universe candidates who arrived in Manila last weekend.
Miss New Zealand Tania Pauline Dawson, who is half Filipina, was the first candidate to arrive early morning Friday at NAIA Terminal 2. She was met by Tourism Undersecretary Kat De Castro and former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson. Miss USA Deshauna Barber, meanwhile, arrived at NAIA Terminal 1 on the same day.
Miss Korea Jenny Kim, Miss China Zhenying Li, Miss Australia Emily Caris Tiivel, Miss Thailand Chalita Suansane, Miss Japan Sari Nakazawa, Miss Vietnam Dang Thi Le Hang, Miss Malaysia Kiranmeet Kaur Baljeet Singh and Miss Myanmar Htet Htet Tun also arrived later within the day.
Miss Indonesia Kezia Roslin Cikita Warouw, as well as Miss Universe Organization (MOU) president Paula Mary Shugart arrived in the country Saturday morning.

The beautiful Candidates were also joined by the reigning Miss Universe, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach during the kickoff party.
Candidates will also make a courtesy call to Pres. Rodrigo Duterte at the Malacanang Palace if schedule permits, the Department of Tourism (DOT) said earlier.
The Miss Universe candidates are scheduled to visit Siargao Island, Cebu, Vigan and Manila next week.
The Miss Universe coronation night will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on January 30, 2017.
