15 barangays in QC to experience water interruption
Maynilad Water Services Inc. customers who live in Quezon City may experience an almost 2-day water interruption from today, December 5, to December 7, 2016. This is for the replacement and maintenance of the valve and pipelines along 15 barangays in the city.

The said water interruption will affect the following areas:
- Apolonio Samson
- Baesa
- Bahay Toro
- Bungad
- Damayan
- Del Monte
- Katipunan
- Mariblo
- Paltok
- Paraiso
- San Antonio
- Sangandaan
- Talipapa
- Tandang Sora
- Veterans Village
Engr. Ronaldo Padua, Maynilad Supply Operations Division Vice President, said that the 36-year old valve in Tandang Sora, which controls the water flow and pressure in the pipeline, is not functioning anymore. To fix this problem, they would be isolating the valve with a line stopper and installing a new valve before allowing the water to flow again.
“Kapag po nag-leak ‘yon, wala po kaming pagsasarhan ng gate valve para ma-repair ‘yong leak na ‘yon [If that leaks, we won’t have a gate valve to close to repair the leak],” Padua explained.
The company said that it will need about 43 hours to complete the repair of the said valve. They advise customers who live in the area to stock up about 3 cubic meters or 15 drums of water. They have also prepared water tankers to the areas affected by the water interruption.
In line with the said repair, Maynilad also coordinated with the local government in providing alternate routes for those who would be passing along or near Brgy. Talipapa, where the repair will take place.
